On a daily basis we're given an updated number of the dead from Israel's assault on Gaza. The risk is that the watching public soon become 'desensitised' to this, the Palestinians become dehumanised and we just see a number.
I've taken the list of names published by the Gaza Health Ministry and made it in to this visual, hopefully it will help to keep a sense of what's going on. I urge you to look through as many of the names as you have the time to. Because the Gazan Health Ministry have much better ways to spend their time at the moment, the data was in an inconsistent format, it's taken me a while to work through it. Each name has a story that the data could never tell.
Some of the names do have additional commentary though - twin 18 year old brothers dying together, pregnant mothers and a paramedic in an ambulance...

Wow. This must of taken a while but very informative and useful for people. It's so sad to look at this toll knowing that it's continually growing.
ReplyDeleteIt did take a good few hours, not the most pleasant of reading either. There's a ceasefire from tomorrow morning for 72 hours, lets hope it lasts...
